An Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician is a healthcare professional who measures and records the electrical activity of the heart through EKG testing in hospitals and clinical settings.
This program is designed with a focus on hands-on EKG procedures and NHA CET certification preparation.

  • Total Program Hours: 90 hours
  • Program Length: 6 weeks
  • Delivery Format: Hybrid program with online coursework and hands-on EKG training
  • Hands-On Training: EKG lead placement, rhythm recognition basics, patient preparation, and EKG procedure practice
  • Practice Exams: Six mock exams provided for certification exam preparation

Tuition Information
  • Total Tuition: $1,500
  • Tuition includes online coursework, textbook, hands-on training, basic consumable supplies, and six practice exams.
  • A separate $50 registration fee is required / AHA BLS (CPR) certification $95 / Certification exam fee not included
  • Textbooks are provided at no cost. A $12 shipping fee applies if books are mailed. Students near Carrollton, Texas may pick up their books at the school free of charge.

Certification Exam
  • Six full-length practice exams provided
  • Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the NHA CET (Certified EKG Technician) exam.
  • The exam covers EKG procedures, patient preparation, cardiac monitoring, safety, and professional communication.
  • The exam consists of 120 questions (100 scored questions and 20 pretest questions).
  • Students are given 2 hours to complete the examination.
  • A minimum scaled score of 390 out of 500 is required to pass.
  • Candidates who do not pass may retake the examination according to current NHA retake policies.

Admission Requirements (Summary)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age, or have parental/guardian consent if under 18
  • Government-issued photo identification or passport
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent documentation
  • BLS (CPR) certification must be submitted prior to program completion
