This course is designed for nurses and nursing students who want to strengthen their ECG interpretation skills for ICU, ER, Telemetry, Step-down, and acute care settings. Through self-paced online learning and a live interactive ECG workshop, students will learn how to recognize common rhythms, interpret clinical findings, and respond with appropriate nursing judgment.

What You Will Learn
- Cardiac electrophysiology basics
- Systematic ECG interpretation
- Normal sinus rhythm and sinus dysrhythmias
- Brady arrhythmias and heart blocks
- Atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter
- Supraventricular tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia
- Ventricular fibrillation and life-threatening rhythms
- ST elevation, ischemic changes, and when to escalate care
- Common ECG findings nurses should recognize
- Nursing priorities, documentation, and provider notification
Learning Experience
This course is designed to be practical, visual, and clinically relevant. Students will not only learn rhythm names, but also how to think like a bedside nurse when reviewing ECG findings, recognizing changes in patient condition, and deciding when to escalate care.
Completion Requirements
- Complete the required online learning modules
- Attend the live Zoom ECG interpretation workshop
- Complete the final assessment
- Submit the course evaluation survey
Certificate Information
Students who successfully complete all course requirements are expected to receive a Certificate of Completion issued by DMS Care Training Center. Final certificate and CE wording will be updated after continuing education approval is finalized.
