Texas CNA Training Program
Prepare for entry-level Nurse Aide practice in Texas through online theory, DMS hands-on skills training, supervised clinical training, and Texas Nurse Aide exam preparation.
Program at a Glance
- Tuition: $1,700
- Texas-required training: 100 hours
- DMS additional hands-on training: 10 hours
- Total DMS training delivered: 110 hours
- Theory: 60 hours
- DMS Skills Training: 2 days, 9 AM–3 PM
- Clinical: REQUIRED — 40 hours, 5 days, 6 AM–2 PM
Tuition & Fees
Tuition includes coursework, textbook/materials, required DMS skills training, and clinical-training support.
Separate: $50 registration fee, $95 AHA BLS/CPR, and Texas state testing fees.
Admission
- Government-issued photo ID/passport
- SSN or ITIN accepted for the DMS CNA pathway as applicable
- Background Check required
- Clinical facility health/vaccination documentation may be required
- BLS required before completion/clinical as applicable
Language Support
DMS provides Korean- and Spanish-translated online learning support. Spanish books/materials are available. DMS prepares students for the basic English used during the Clinical Skills Exam. Current testing-language options should be confirmed under current Texas testing rules when scheduling.
Out-of-State Students
Students from outside Texas may travel to DMS for training; this pathway prepares students for Texas Nurse Aide certification. Reciprocity/endorsement or transfer requirements vary by state and are not automatic.
WIOA
CNA is currently a DMS WIOA-supported program. Individual eligibility/funding is determined by Workforce Solutions.
Testing
State exam fees are not included. Students must meet current Texas eligibility/testing requirements and schedule/pay applicable testing fees.
