The IV Therapy Certificate Program is a Continuing Education (CE) course designed for RN, LVN, and NP. This training combines evidence-based instruction aligned with current clinical guidelines and hands-on practice to strengthen practical IV skills that can be applied immediately in real clinical settings. It is a short, CE-focused skills program for working nurses.

This course is approved by the Montana Nurses Association (MNA) and follows ANCC (Accredited Nursing Continuing Education) standards.

Course Topics
- Basics of peripheral venous anatomy & physiology
- IV catheter types and gauge selection
- Indications and contraindications for peripheral IV insertion
- Infection prevention and safety practices (CDC / INS guidelines)
- IV complications (infiltration, phlebitis, hematoma, etc.): identification and response

Hands-On Lab
- Peripheral IV insertion practice (using a simulation IV arm)
- Flushing, dressing, and securement
- IV removal and safe disposal
- Return demonstration
Completion Requirements
- Complete 100% of the online theory module
- Attend the hands-on lab and pass the return demonstration
- Submit the course evaluation survey
