CE Approval Information
This course is approved by the Montana Nurses Association (MNA) and follows ANCC continuing nursing education standards. A total of 3 CE hours is awarded for eligible participants.

What You Will Learn
- Peripheral venous anatomy and physiology
- IV catheter types and gauge selection
- Indications and contraindications for peripheral IV insertion
- Infection prevention and safety practices based on current clinical guidelines
- IV complications, including infiltration, phlebitis, hematoma, and appropriate nursing response
- Safe flushing, dressing, securement, removal, and disposal practices
- Hands-on peripheral IV insertion practice using a simulation IV arm
- Return demonstration to confirm skill performance
Completion Requirements
- Complete 100% of the online theory module
- Attend the hands-on lab session
- Pass the return demonstration
- Submit the course evaluation survey
- Complete the required CE registration form for certificate documentation
Certificate Information
Students who successfully complete all course requirements will receive a certificate of completion issued by DMS Care Training Center. CE documentation will reflect the approved 3 CE hours.
