A Home Health Aide (HHA) supports clients with basic personal care and daily living needs in the home or long-term care setting. This role is similar to a caregiver and is increasingly in demand as home-based care services continue to grow.

* This program is an approved credential program by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), and only Texas residents are eligible to enroll and receive the certificate.
* This certificate is commonly required by home health agencies and in-home care providers.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assisting with personal hygiene and activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Measuring basic vital signs and observing client condition changes
  • Supporting mobility, repositioning, and simple range-of-motion assistance
  • Infection prevention and basic client safety practices

Program Information
  • Length: 2–3 weeks / Total: 85 hours
  • Format: Hybrid (75 hours online + 2 days in-person skills practice)

Completion & Career Path
  • Upon completion, students receive a DMS Certificate of Completion (HHA)
  • Employment settings may include home health agencies, assisted living, and long-term care facilities
  • DMS Care Training Center is a TWC-approved training provider

Admission Requirements
  • No age limit (as permitted by program policy)
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Social Security Number (SSN)
  • High school diploma or GED

To enroll, students must complete the Application Form and submit the Registration Fee.
Enrollment is confirmed only after both steps are completed.
