  • Basic anatomy and healthcare concepts
  • Patient care workflow and professional communication
  • Safety, clinical readiness, and professional expectations
  • Understanding roles and responsibilities in healthcare settings

Hands-on skills and certification focus

  • Phlebotomy and blood draw techniques
  • Injection skills
  • EKG fundamentals
  • Clinical preparation for externship and patient interaction
  • NHA CCMA certification exam preparation with practice testing
College credit potential

This certification may support college credit, too

NHA states that certain certification exams have been approved by ACE for college credit recommendations. That means this summer program can support not only career exploration and certification, but also future academic momentum.

  • According to NHA, several certification exams have ACE credit recommendations.
  • For example, NHA lists CCMA as approved for 5 semester hours in the lower-division baccalaureate or associate degree category.
  • This makes the credential especially meaningful for students and families thinking long-term about both career and college pathways.
  • Final evaluation and transfer of credit always depends on the college or university receiving it.
